NGY myplace Project

NGY myplace is due to open in March 2012 and will be a world class, state of the art centre for young people living in Nottingham. It will provide a range of services and facilities from a fitness suite and recording studio, to counselling and health services.

About the project

Logo Driven by the Nottingham City Council work began in the summer of 2010 with the refurbishment and extension of an iconic building situated in the historic castle sector of the city centre.  Young people are at the heart of the project and have been involved from the initial concept and choosing the building, to design and delivery.

NGY MyPlace Building

Nottingham Youth Council member, Ashraf Reid, 17 said: "Young people in Nottingham have been crying out for something like this for a long time. It's fantastic news for young people and for the city, The Nottingham Youth Council has been involved in this project from the start and I think that showed in our bid. I'm glad the voice of young people has been heard loud and clear."

Chris Cortez 16 of Bulwell says: "that the new NGY centre will be a great venue as it is offering lots of different activities that young people have been involved in designing. The Music studio and auditorium will he feels attract young people from across the City".

The NGY myplace will boast a music recording studio, DVD production area, dance studio, café and a gym as well as providing services for young people such as career and health advice.
